Elige siempre cara
Simply being tested for HIV raises several questions. Narrated first hand by real people, this documentary tries to answer as many of them as it can. It discusses prevention, early diagnosis, the treatments, their side effects, lipodystrophy, living with HIV and the hope for a better future; but it doesn’t forget the past, that time when there was no hope for the future. However, things are very different today: different kinds of treatment are available; life can be lived to the full, and many people stride into each new day with determination.
In the words of its director: “The current situation of HIV in Spain is a great mystery. In Elige siempre cara we have tried to shine a little light on this reality. A reality now believed to affect between 120,000 and 150,000 Spanish people. From here, we would like them to receive social recognition for their commitment”.
