Registration is now open for the Youth Jury at the 9th San Sebastián Human Rights Film Festival (8-15 April), organised by San Sebastián City Council through the House of Peace and Human Rights and Donostia Kultura. Until March 18, youngsters between the ages of 18 and 30 wishing to sit on the Jury can register on this website.

The Youth Jury grants its Award for the Best Short Film screened at the Human Rights Film Festival. The Official Short Film Selection has been competitive since 2006. As in previous editions, the youngsters will vote for the works they like best based on their cinematographic quality and their ability to raise awareness on human rights. Last year the 131 youngsters on the Jury gave their award to Angry Man / Sinna mann (2009), by the Norwegian, Anita Killi.

Sitting on this Jury will earn its members free choice credits from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). The organisation will issue a certificate indicating the activity carried out and the corresponding hours, which can be exchanged for free choice credits from the UPV/EHU. However, this exchange will not be possible for students studying a degree course.

Those sitting on the Youth Jury also have the right to attend all Festival sessions, including the opening and closing galas and all parallel activities.
