In 1993 Russia occupied part of Georgia, Abkhazia. Some 250,000 local inhabitants had to leave their homes. Most of them headed to the capital, Tiflis, where they occupied hotels, the university... In 2004 the Government invited them to leave the city and sent them to special settlements. Fotskho is one of these.
