“We must see the need for nonviolent gadflies to create the kind of tension in society that will help people rise from the dark depths of prejudice…” (Martin Luther King, 1963).

The noise of violence and the clamour of politics have often seen the non-violent activist struggle in the Basque Country pushed to the background. Ziztadak / Tábanos presents a chain of events in the country which are unknown, avoided or forgotten. The film gives international references and provokes reflections and emotions seeking to stir awareness and attitudes. The leaders of these movements return to the emblematic places of their protests to explain in situ the way they were and to reflect on the force and effect of non-violence.
