Winners and finalists of the PHotoEspaña OjodePez Human Rights Award 2012

FNAC / April 1 – May 31

While PHotoEspaña 2012 was underway, an announcement was made as to the winner and finalists of the V PHotoEspaña OjodePez Human Rights Award in recognition of a documentary photography work that highlights the values of solidarity, ethics, justice or effort.

This year the winner was the photographer Álvaro Deprit (Madrid, 1977) for his Suspension series. Here he looks at the transition from adolescence to adulthood in children from countries not belonging to the European Union who arrive to Italy’s case famiglie, literally ‘family homes’, which welcome between 7,000 and 8,000 unaccompanied minors each year.
