Circles (2013), by Srdan Golubović, will open on April 4 at the Victoria Eugenia Theater the XII San Sebastián Human Rights Film Festival, organised by San Sebastián City Council’s Human Rights Department and Donostia Kultura.
Circles tells the tale of the consequences of war on the people who suffer it. The death of a Serbian soldier killed by three of his comrades in 1993 during the Bosnian War continues to mark the lives of many people 15 years later.
The film won at 2013 the Jury Special Award at the Sundance Film Festival (“Word Cinema Dramatic” section) and also has received the Audience Award at the festivals of Sofia, Sarajevo or Minsk, among others.
Like every year, full-length and short films, debates, exhibitions and other activities will make up the programme of an event that will close its doors on April 11.
The objective of the Festival is to foster and contribute to information, reflection, awareness and debate among citizens on the subject of human rights, prompted by the language of cinema and other cultural expressions.
