Bram is seven years old. He thinks a lot about the world around him and collects names and words he likes in a notebook. Bram is excited at the idea of going to “big school” and starts in first grade, where his teacher turns out to be Mr Fish, a man with a very conservative way of thinking who has no time for Bram’s world. Our little boy is never still and finds it hard to concentrate on his school work. But Mr Fish will do everything he can to make Bram do things the “right” way. Bram’s parents struggle to find the balance between their son’s happiness and his new teacher’s approach to education.
