HRFN European Forum

San Telmo Museum
April 15th-17th

For years, the Human Rights Film Festival of San Sebastian has been in partnership with of the Human Rights Film Network (HRFN), an international network of human rights film festivals. Consisting of 38 active member festivals across every continent, the HRFN exchanges ideas on how to promote human rights films through festivals, broadcasting and educational programmes.

The Festival is an important part of the programme designed to celebrate San Sebastian 2016, European Capital of Culture. In order to bolster the European dimension, promote the internationalization of the San Sebastian festival, foster good practices among festivals, and promote films with social impact abroad, the two organisations have joined forces to organize this European Forum. And will take place at the San Telmo Museum from 15 to 17 April, coinciding with the first days of the 14th Human Rights Film Festival.

The Forum will consist of two morning sessions open to filmmakers, social activists and anyone else interested in the following themes: Borders, Refuge and Migration (April 15) and The Impact of Human Rights Films (April 16). On the third morning, 17 April, there will be a meeting of the European HRFN members.
