In 1971, women had yet to be granted the right vote in Switzerland. Nora is a young housewife and mother of two who lives in a quaint little town. She's a quiet woman who is like by the entire town. When her husband forbids her to accept a part-time job, frustration leads her to become the paradigm of the suffrage movement in her town. Her new fame brings humiliation, threats and possibly the end of her marriage. But she refuses to back down and convinces the local women to go on strike while discovering surprising aspects about her own liberation. The quiet life of the place will be turned on its head.
