Victims of the Franco dictatorship have suffered and continue to suffer from historic impunity in a country that has consistently refused to try crimes committed during the military dictatorship. The frustrated attempt in Spain to open a judicial process against those responsible for the dictatorship was a harsh blow to the victims of the Franco regime. In 2010 a window of hope was opened from the Argentine Republic on the other side of the ocean.
The opening of a lawsuit filed in Argentine courts against the crimes of the Franco regime represents a new opportunity for the victims of the Spanish dictatorship and their families.
