The 18th edition of the Human Rights Film Festival has been cancelled

In view of the situation generated by Covid-19, the San Sebastian City Council's Human Rights Department and Donostia Kultura have decided to cancel the 18th edition of the Human Rights Film Festival on the scheduled dates of April 23-30. This includes the morning screenings for schoolchildren.

Social responsibility and the current limitations make it impossible to organise the event with guarantees for the said dates. However, the organisation, now more than ever, repeats its commitment to a transformative culture that makes us think and leaves its mark, that condemns human rights violations and advocates solidarity and empathy. It will therefore continue working to promote different initiatives and to offer its programme throughout the year, circumstances permitting.

Meanwhile, we remind you that a channel has been opened, curated by the festival in collaboration with the online film platform Filmin. On this channel you can access films screened at previous editions of the competition, titles directed by filmmakers to have received awards from the festival for their careers, films by women filmmakers on social issues and a section dedicated to Basque productions, which includes the release on Filmin of the documentary Hilos de sororidad:
