Director of the UNESCO Chair on Education for Social Justice at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). Senior lecturer at the UAM and Coordinator of the Research Group on Educational Change for Social Justice. Academic Secretary of the University Institute of Human Rights, Democracy, Culture of Peace and Nonviolence (DEMOSPAZ) at the UAM and General Coordinator of Ibero-American Network of Research on Educational Change and School Effectiveness (RINACE). He has been General Coordinator of the UNESCO Latin American Laboratory for the Assessment of Quality in Education (LLECE) and Director of Studies at the Educational Research and Documentation Center (CIDE) of the Ministry of Education.
