Irina is a Ukrainian single mother who lives with her son Igor in a small city in the Czech Republic. One day Igor is attacked in his own block of flats, and seriously injured. While the police investigate what happened, the whole city mobilises in support of mother and son, and in particular attacking their Roma neighbours, who they believe to be responsible for the attack. But when the youngster begins to recover in hospital, the truth comes to light.
