Paris, 1985. Vanessa is thirteen years old when she meets Gabriel Matzneff. A highly intelligent and manipulative man, the renowned fifty-year-old writer seduces the youngster. The teenage girl becomes the lover and muse of a man celebrated by the world of culture and politics. Losing herself in the relationship, she gradually begins to realise how destructive and abnormal the situation is, before finally seeing Matzneff as the predator he really is.
