Mireia Gabilondo (Tentazioa):
"Inspired by a beautiful letter that his mother, Isabel Uria, wrote to him, our beloved Telmo Irureta directed and produced a short entitled Of Water and Sand. In it he speaks of his cerebral palsy, of how and when it afflicted him; of how his family handled it, and how he has had to adapt to this "other life" that nobody imagined.
We saw the short at Tentazioa and loved it. We loved it so much that we wanted to know more, and suggested that Telmo produce an unusual and distinctive live format with himself and Dorleta Urretabizkaia in which, after watching the short along with the audience, we embark on an Interview with a familiar and complicit "interviewer", to find out more about him. For him to tell us about everything that was left on the cutting room floor, how the whole process went, the problems and joys it involved. And to tell us about him, which is what we wanted. Because we could spend hours and hours and hours listening to him, feeling him, letting ourselves be caught up in his laughter and humour… in short, learning to live life the way he lives it.
Thank you very much, Telmo!".
