Fighter
Aïcha is a big kung-fu fan. Her Turkish parents expect her to finish school with good grades to be able to go to university and study medicine like her brother Ali. However, Aïcha is not too driven by schoolwork. She loves kung-fu, which she is studying behind her family’s back at a school run by the teacher Sifu –played by Xian Gao, martial arts trainer in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000) and also choreographer for the fight scenes in Fighter–. When her parents find out that she is going there to train everyday, they forbid her to return. The rules of life are not as simple as the rules of kung-fu. Aïcha must decide who she wants to be and what she wants to do.
