Aldapa / La cuesta2025

A choral and human portrait commemorating those who have cared, resisted, and continue to climb uphill together. In the neighbourhood of Altza, a group of elderly women share the uphill struggles they have been through in their lives: migrating, caring, supporting families and building a community, in places that are almost always overlooked. Aldapa / La cuesta transforms these memories into an engaging portrait of everyday dignity, combining first-person accounts with a performative dimension. Today, gathered at the Expressive Movement and Body Workshop of the José Manuel Varona Association of Old-Age Pensioners, their voices relive these stories, criss-crossed with migrations, work, friendship and everyday resistance.
